If battery cable has been disconnected, the PCM must relearn a new operating strategy. Connect battery cable and run engine until operating temperature is reached. After engine warm-up, drive vehicle under various operating conditions until PCM has relearned new strategy.

Any time the brake drums are removed for brake service, the braking surface diameter should be inspected with a suitable brake drum micrometer at several points to determine if they are within the safe oversize limit stamped on the brake drum outer surface. - Remove front caliper assembly from front steering knuckle assembly.
- Remove front braking disk (rotor) from hub, by pulling it straight off wheel mounting studs.
- Remove speed sensor cable routing bracket from strut assembly.
- Remove hub and bearing to stub axle retaining nut.
- Install a puller, Special Tool 6790 or equivalent, on hub and bearing assembly, using wheel lug nuts to secure it in place.
