- On models equipped with 16-pin data link connector, connect impulse counter scan tool No. 124-589-19-21-00, or equivalent, as follows:
- Connect ground circuit 31 black wire to socket No. 1, Fig. .

- Remove shaft nut or bolt, Fig. , with aid of spanner wrench.
- Remove pressure plate using pressure plate remover.
- Remove shims from shaft.
- Remove rotor (pulley) retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers.
- Remove rotor (pulley) by gently tapping it with plastic hammer. Some compressors may require a jaw puller.
- Disconnect stator lead wires from compressor housing.
- Remove stator retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers, then remove stator from compressor housing.
