These models use an engine coolant temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor, A/C "ON" signal and A/C pressure signal to input signals to the ECM. The module uses these input signals to open and close the two coolant fan relays.
With vehicle speed below 12 mph, A/C switch off, A/C triple-pressure switch off and engine coolant temperature below 203°F, both relays will remain open and cooling fans should be off. - Drain engine coolant into suitable container.
- Disconnect heater inlet and outlet coolant pipes from heater unit.
- Remove instrument panel as outlined in "Instrument Panel, Replace."
- Disconnect heater ducts, Fig. .
- Disconnect wiring harness connectors to heater unit.
- Remove heater unit.
- Separate heater unit case halves and remove heater core, Fig. .
- Reverse procedure to install.
Maxima
- Remove instrument panel as outlined under "Instrument Panel, Replace."
- Refer to Fig. for heater core replacement.
