- Using tool No. J-33939, or equivalent, hold clutch plate, then remove clutch assembly to shaft center bolt, Fig. .
- Using puller tool No. J-33944-A and forcing screw tool No. J-33944-4, or equivalents, remove driveplate, Fig. .
- Remove adjusting shims, Figs. and .
- Using snap ring pliers, remove snap ring.
- Remove pulley using a suitable puller, Fig. .
- Disconnect field coil lead wire, then remove field coil.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

- Prior to adjustment, check the following:
- On models equipped with rear disc brakes, ensure toggle lever returns to stopper when parking brake lever is released, Fig. .
- On all models, ensure there is no drag when parking brake lever is released.
- Release parking brake lever and loosen adjusting nut.
- Start engine and depress brake pedal fully at least 10 times with engine running.
- Pull parking brake control lever 4-5 notches, then adjust control lever by turning adjusting nut, Fig. .
- Pull control lever using approximately 44 lbs. of force, parking brake should be engaged ...

Fuel System Pressure Relief
- On all models except 1990-96 300ZX, remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel.
- On 1990-96 300ZX, disconnect the fuel pump relay, located behind the lefthand side kick panel.
- On all models, start and run the engine until it stalls.
- After the engine stalls, crank two or three times to ensure all fuel pressure is relieved.
- On all models except 1990-96 300ZX, turn the ignition Off, then install the fuel pump fuse.
- On 1990-96 300ZX, turn the ignition Off, then connect the fuel pump relay.

- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
- Remove cotter pin then wheel bearing lock nut using suitable tool.
- Remove brake caliper assembly and rotor using suitable tool. Brake hose does not need to be disconnected from brake caliper. Suspend caliper assembly using mechanics wire.
- Remove nuts and bolts between side flange and driveshaft with suitable tool.
