Fuel System Pressure Relief

  • On all models except 1990-96 300ZX, remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel.
  • On 1990-96 300ZX, disconnect the fuel pump relay, located behind the lefthand side kick panel.
  • On all models, start and run the engine until it stalls.
  • After the engine stalls, crank two or three times to ensure all fuel pressure is relieved.
  • On all models except 1990-96 300ZX, turn the ignition Off, then install the fuel pump fuse.
  • On 1990-96 300ZX, turn the ignition Off, then connect the fuel pump relay.

  • Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
  • Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
  • Remove wheel bearing locknut. Suspend knuckle with mechanics wire to avoid stretching caliper brake hose. Do not pull or twist brake hose. Tie rod does not need to be disconnected from knuckle.
  • Remove clip and separate brake hose from strut.
