- Obtain five-digit radio theft protection code as outlined under "Precautions."
- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Remove receiver line and suction line bolts, then disconnect lines from evaporator. Plug or cap lines immediately to avoid moisture and dust contamination of system.
- Remove glove compartment as follows:
- Open glove compartment, then remove damper screw and damper from glove compartment.

- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands.
- Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
- Drain transmission fluid, then reinstall drain plug using new washer. It is not required to remove drain plug when left driveshaft is removed.
- Lift up locking tab on spindle nut then remove nut.
- Remove self-locking nut with 12mm dampner fork mounting bolt. and 10mm dampner pinch bolt then remove dampner fork.
- Remove cotter pin from lower arm ball joint castle nut and remove nut.
