Hydraulic Power Flow Regulator, Replace
- With engine off, discharge hydraulic reservoir by operating brake pedal approximately 20 times with same force required for full stop braking action.
- Disconnect circulating pressure warning and hydraulic pressure switches electrical connectors.
- Disconnect power flow regulator hydraulic lines.
- Remove mounting bolts and power flow regulator.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Ensure all connections and pipes are free from dirt.
- Tighten mounting nuts and bolts to specifications.

- Ensure parking brake lever is fully released and cables operate freely, then raise and support vehicle.
- Remove one wheel bolt from each wheel.
- Rotate wheel until bolt hole is aligned with adjustment screw.
- Turn adjusting screw until wheel can no longer turn.
- On 1998-99 M3, 740 and 750 models, loosen adjusting screw eight notches.
