If battery cable has been disconnected, the PCM must relearn a new operating strategy. Connect battery cable and run engine until operating temperature is reached. After engine warm-up, drive vehicle under various operating conditions until PCM has relearned new strategy.

- Remove air inlet resonator, then drain coolant into a suitable container.
- Remove upper radiator crossover.
- Remove hose clamps and hoses from radiator.
- Disconnect engine block heater electrical wire, if equipped.
- Disconnect and plug automatic transaxle hoses at cooler.
- Disconnect fan electrical connector.
- Remove A/C condenser attaching screws located at front of radiator, if equipped.
- Remove radiator from engine compartment by lifting upward.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Disconnect evaporator probe electrical connector.
- At center of heater housing, locate evaporator probe access plate. Twist plate counterclockwise 1/4 turn to remove.
- Pull probe out of evaporator core. This plate must be pushed inside A/C unit and oriented in such a way that it can be removed.
