DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 1998 Chrysler Intrepid AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 1998 Chrysler Intrepid cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 1998 Chrysler Intrepid 3.2 V6 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheel and tire assembly from vehicle.
- Remove front caliper assembly from front steering knuckle assembly.
- Remove front braking disk (rotor) from hub, by pulling it straight off wheel mounting studs.
- Remove speed sensor cable routing bracket from strut assembly.
- Remove hub and bearing to stub axle retaining nut.
- Install a puller, Special Tool 6790 or equivalent, on hub and bearing assembly, using wheel lug nuts to secure it in place.
- Install a wheel lug nut on wheel stud to protect threads on stud. Install a flat blade pry tool to keep hub ...
