Brake pads used in this caliper are directional, if pads are to be reinstalled mark them for location prior to removal.

Always remove some brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir prior to installing new pads. When caliper piston is pushed back, fluid is forced out of caliper and into reservoir. After pads are installed and seated, fill reservoir to MAX mark.

  • Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
  • Pry off brake pad retaining spring using a suitable pry bar, Fig. .
  • Remove protective caps from caliper guide pin bushings.

  • Connect suitable bottle with transparent hose to each wheel.
  • Pump brake pedal several times, then hold.
  • Open and close bleeder screw, then release pedal.
  • Bleed brake system using the following sequence:
    • Righthand rear caliper/wheel cylinder.
    • Lefthand rear caliper/wheel cylinder.
    • Righthand front caliper.
    • Lefthand front caliper.
  • Repeat procedure until brake fluid flows without air bubbles.
