- Remove mounting bolts and front splash shield.
- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Loosen tensioning roller bolt and remove drive belt.
- Remove couplings and disconnect lines. Plug openings.
- Remove mounting bolts and disconnect connector.
- Remove compressor.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Loosen bolt until tensioning roller turns without friction.
- Press roller against drive belt, hold tight and torque new belt to 62-75 inch lbs. or used belt to 44-58 inch lbs.

System performance check should be performed as both initial an diagnostic check for cooling related complaints and a final check after repairs are completed.
- Connect manifold gauge set to A/C system and place suitable temperature sensors at evaporator outlet and outside vehicle.
