- Remove instrument panel bezel using a suitable wide blade flat tool and pry bezel away from instrument panel, then lower down glove box door.
- Reach through glove box opening and disconnect vacuum harness .
- Remove control panel attaching screws and pull control unit far enough away to disconnect electrical connectors and control cables.
- Remove control unit.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Using a suitable marker, mark a line across yoke at transfer case, link yoke, and propeller shaft yoke at rear of front propeller shaft for installation reference.
- Mark a line across propeller shaft yoke and pinion shaft yoke for installation reference.
- Remove universal joint strap bolts at pinion shaft yoke.
- Remove bolts holding propeller shaft to transfer case yoke flange.
- Remove propeller shaft.
