- Loosen suspension strut nut five turns.
- Loosen wheel hub retaining nut and wheel nuts.
- Raise and support vehicle.

- On models with automatic transaxle, drain automatic transmission fluid.
- On all models, remove splash shields.
- Do not damage CV joint boot and wheel speed sensor ring.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove righthand wheel and tire.
- Remove righthand outer tie rod end from righthand spindle.
- Remove front and rear Y-pipe flange fasteners from exhaust manifolds.
- Remove stud bolt and nut retainer from oil pan, then remove remaining nuts and bolts from U-pipe outlet connection.

This lamp should light when the ignition is turned On. After engine starts, the lamp should go off, unless a fault condition is detected by the EEC-V system. If the lamp remains On or starts to blink, a diagnostic trouble code is stored in the PCM. Following diagnosis and repair, the Check Engine/MIL lamp will automatically reset when stored diagnostic trouble codes are cleared from PCM memory. The PCM reset procedure allows the scan tool to command the PCM to clear all diagnostic trouble codes.

- On water pump drive belt, remove water pump pulley shield bolts from lefthand valve cover, then the shield from vehicle.
