System Operation
The Lucas/Sumitomo system is a hybrid non-integral Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The system uses a single valve per channel, 4 channel system to reduce the tendency of any wheel to lock-up. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s may be read using a suitable programed scan tool. There are no provisions for flash code diagnostics.
- Turn ignition switch to Off position.
- Connect suitably programmed scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under lefthand side of instrument panel below steering column.
- Turn ignition switch to On position.
- Select DTCs from application menu.
- Select DTC information on scan tool, then read and record DTCs.
