- Remove retainer from vacuum booster front shell using a suitable screwdriver, then draw plate and seal assembly out of shell inside.
- Set push rod gauge tool No. J-39216, or equivalent, on vacuum booster, Fig. .
- Apply negative pressure by means of vacuum pump tool No. J-23738-A, or equivalent, until pressure in the vacuum booster is 500 mm Hg.
- Measure dimension 4, Fig. . If dimension 4 is not as specified, adjust push rod using push rod support tool No. J-39241, or equivalent, Fig. .
