STARTER & ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2000 Jaguar XJ8 AUTOMOBILES

Alternator, Replace
Vehicle: 2000 Jaguar XJ8 L 4.0 V8 GAS
- Remove battery cover.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove air cleaner assembly (including fit body paintwork protection sheets to adjacent working area).
- Remove twin fan and motor assembly from behind radiator.
- Check that belt wear indicator is within limit marks.
- Turn adjuster assembly to left against spring tension using a suitable spanner such as Churchill JD-230 or Snap On XDHM 1415 or equivalent, on center bolt of belt tensioner idler pulley.
- While holding tensioner against spring tension, remove drive belt from alternator pulley. Release tensioner slowly and remove spann...
