Accessing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Connect a suitably programmed scan tool to DLC and follow manufacturer's instructions.
Without diagnostic scan tool, ground number 1 terminal of DLC using a special tool or suitable jumper lead. Turn ignition switch to On position, then read diagnostic trouble codes from flashing warning light.

- Lift up caliper body, using the guide pin bolt as a fulcrum. Use wire to suspend the caliper.
- Remove inner and outer shims, pad assemblies, and pad clips from caliper support.
- Measure hub torque using a suitable spring scale to determine brake drag torque after pan installation, Fig. .

These brakes have self-adjusting shoe mechanisms that maintain correct brake lining to drum clearances at all times.
