- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels.
- Remove retainer and retainer pin.
- Lift warning contact line and remove warning contacts from plates. Warning contact may be reused if there are no scrape marks on plastic part or line wear.
- Remove some brake fluid from reservoir.
- Set pads as far back as possible with suitable piston reset fixture.
- Use suitable puller to remove pads.
- Reverse procedure to install. Grease rear pad backing plates.

- Remove brake booster operating rod lockpin.
- Remove master cylinder attaching bolt from luggage compartment floor plate.
- Drain brake fluid reservoir.
- Disconnect electrical connectors for stop light switch, then the vacuum hose at brake booster and brake lines at master cylinder.
- Remove brake booster brace upper mounting bolt and booster base attaching nuts, then the master cylinder and booster as an assembly. Brace and operating rod do not have to be disconnected at pedal assembly to remove brake booster.
