Compressor Service -> HD6/HT6/HU6 Compressor -> Shaft Seal, Replace -> Installation -> Removal

Removal
- Recover refrigerant as outlined under , then loosen and reposition compressor in brackets.
- Remove clutch plate and hub as outlined under "Compressor Clutch Service."
- Remove shaft seal retaining ring.
- Clean inside of compressor neck area around shaft and seal seat to prevent damage to compressor from entry of dirt.
- Place seal protector tool No. J-33021, or equivalent, over end of shaft to avoid chipping ceramic seat.
- Engage knurled tangs of seal seat replacement tool No. J-23128-A, or equivalent, into recessed portion of seal seat by turning handle clockwise.

This procedure must be performed if the BCM, Passlock sensor or PCM is replaced. If BCM is not properly programmed, it will not control all the features properly.
