  • Remove lower bolt and caliper assembly, Fig. . Position assembly aside using suitable wire.
  • Remove brake pads and shim.
  • Bottom piston in caliper using a suitable tool.
  • Install new brake pads and attach shim to the outer pad. Tighten lower bolt to specifications.
Elantra, Sonata & Tiburon
  • Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel/tire assembly.
  • Remove two mounting bolts attaching caliper to torque plate, Fig. .

  • Ensure battery voltage is between 9 and 16 volts.
  • Check warning light by turning ignition switch On and verifying that ABS warning light illuminates for one second.
