DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2001 Mercury Sable AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2001 Mercury Sable cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2001 Mercury Sable 3.0 V6 FLEX
- Remove wheel cover or hub cover from wheel and tire assembly.
- Loosen lug nuts.
- Raise vehicle on a frame contact hoist and remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove front axle wheel hub retainer and washer. Discard front axle wheel hub retainer. It is a torque prevailing design and cannot be reused.
- Remove air suspension height sensor from height sensor ball studs. Position air suspension height sensor out of way.
- Remove front brake anti-lock sensor wire harness from wire harness retaining clip.
- Remove front brake anti-lock sensor and position aside.
- Remove and discard front suspens...
