- Remove battery and tray.
- Disconnect cruise control actuator from body.
- Remove No. 3 engine room relay block from radiator.
- Disconnect cruise control actuator wire from clamp on fan shroud.
- Disconnect cooling fan electrical connector.
- Remove retaining bolts from cooling fan assembly.
- Remove fan blade attaching nut and fan.
- Remove fan motor to assembly attaching screws, then the motor.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

- Obtain the vehicle owners radio theft protection code prior to disconnecting the battery ground cable, if equipped.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Remove the fuel fill cap to release fuel tank pressure.
- Place a shop towel over the union bolt at top of fuel filter. Slowly loosen the union bolt allowing fuel pressure to bleed down.
- Whenever the union bolt is loosened to relieve fuel system pressure, always replace the bolt gasket.

This procedure describes a driveline equipped with cardan joint in tube yoke. Driveline equipped with companion/slip yoke repeat steps to remove remaining cardan joint.
- Place driveshaft on suitable workbench. Do not damage driveshaft when servicing on workbench. Ensure driveline and components are reference marked to prevent driveline imbalance. Do not tighten driveshaft too tightly in a vise because this will cause driveline to become out of balance and result in driveline vibration.

- Using Toyota SST or other suitable jumper, connect terminals TS and CG of DLC3. The DLC3 is located under the left side of the instrument panel.
