- Prepare heater core as follows:
- Fill heater core and water hoses with water, then install plug tool No. BT-7422-B, or equivalent, in one hose end and adapter tool No. BT-7422-A from Rotunda Radiator/Heater Core Pressure Tester tool No. 021-00012, or equivalent, into other end.

- Disconnect lower radiator, coolant recovery and engine return hoses at thermostat housing, Fig. .
- Remove two thermostat housing mounting bolts.
