If roughness or vibration is encountered during highway operation or if pedal pumping is experienced at low speeds, the disc may have excessive thickness variation. Measure the disc at 12 points with a micrometer at a radius approximately one inch from edge of disc. If thickness measurements vary by more than .0005 inch, replace the disc.
Lateral Runout
Excessive lateral runout of braking disc may cause a "knocking back" of the pistons, possibly creating increased pedal travel and vibration when brakes are applied.

- Clean outside of brake master cylinder reservoir.
- Remove reservoir cap and fill brake master cylinder reservoir with specified brake fluid.
- Follow manufacturer's instructions when installing master cylinder adapter.
- Install brake bleeder to brake master cylinder reservoir, and attach brake bleeder tank hose to fitting on adapter.
- Attach a rubber drain hose to righthand rear bleeder screw and submerge free end of hose in a container partially filled with clean brake fluid.

On models with anti-lock brakes, the brake booster system must be depressurized before disconnecting any hydraulic lines or fittings. Depressurize the system by pumping the brake pedal a minimum of 25 times with the ignition in the Off position.

- Apply parking brake control fully with 100 lbs., foot pedal effort, then release brake control.
- Place transmission in Neutral, then raise and support vehicle.
- With parking brake control in Off position, grasp pensioner around housing. Using an hook tool place end into rounded end of clip between clip and housing. Unlock clip by pulling downward with tool and support pensioner.
