White Flakes Come From Vents
2000-01 Expedition, F-150 & Navigator
On some of these models there may be white flakes coming from the air conditioning vents when the blower motor is operating.
This condition may be caused by excessive brazing flux utilized during manufacturing of the evaporator.
To correct this condition clean the ducts through the registers and blow off evaporator core through blower motor opening using 90-150 psi compressed air.

- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Remove instrument panel as outlined under "Instrument Panel."
- Drain coolant into suitable container.
- Remove junction block with splash shield.
- Disconnect starter relay cable ends.
- Disconnect connector, then remove mounting screws, pin-type retainers and junction block bracket.
- Clamp heater core inlet and outlet hoses using suitable tools.
- Disconnect heater core hoses.
- Disconnect refrigerant lines using suitable spring lock too...
