- Place ignition switch in Lock position.
- Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable.
- Wait at least two minutes after disconnecting battery ground cable before doing any further work on vehicle. The air bag system is designed to retain enough voltage to deploy air bags for a short time even after battery has been disconnected.

- Remove caliper retaining bolts.
- Remove caliper from disc by slowly sliding caliper assembly out and away from disc.

- Clamp a suitable block of wood over one of the pistons.
- Remove piston with several short bursts of low pressure compressed air directed through fluid inlet port.

If the propeller shaft is equipped with a companion yoke, simply repeat the following steps to remove the cardan joint from the companion yoke after removing the cardan joint from the tube yoke.
