BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2003 Infiniti Q45 AUTOMOBILES

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove master cylinder cap.
- Disconnect wheel speed sensor connector.
- Remove lower caliper mounting pin/bolt.
- Pivot caliper upward to remove caliper and retainers from torque member, Figs. through .
- Remove inner and outer pads and shims.
- Compress caliper piston using suitable C-clamp.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Apply Poly Butyl Cuprysil (PBC) to surface between shim pad and shim.
- Ensure inner and outer pad return lever, Fig. , is secured on upper side of pad retainer.

- Carefully monitor brake fluid level at master cylinder during bleeding procedure.
- Fill reservoir with new DOT 3 brake fluid.
- Ensure fluid level is full at all times.
- Connect transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve.
- Fully depress brake pedal several times.
- With brake pedal depressed, open air bleeder valve to release air.
- Close bleeder valve.
- Release brake pedal slowly.

- Inspect brake pedal free height from dash reinforcement panel, Fig. .
- Loosen lock nut and adjust pedal free height by turning brake booster input rod. Tighten lock nut, Fig. .
- Inspect pedal free play and ensure stop lamps go off when pedal is released.
- Inspect brake pedal's depressed height with engine running. If lower than specifications, inspect for leaks or damaged components.
- On models equipped with manual transaxle, measurements should be as follows:
- Free height H should be 6.22-6.50 inches.
- Depressed height D should 2.76 inches at 110 lbs. pressure with engine running...
