Radiator Fan
The cooling fans are actuated by the Electronic Control Module (ECM) using high and low speed fan relays, located in the engine compartment fuse/relay panel. The ECM will actuate fan at high speed when engine coolant temperature reaches 207°F. Since fan motor is permanently grounded, fan operates as soon as voltage is applied. When coolant temperature falls below 199°F, ECM will change fan speed from high to low speed.

- Place front wheels in straight-ahead position.
- Turn ignition to Lock and remove key, then disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove Air Bag and "IG" fuses from junction/fuse box, Figs. through , located under lefthand side of instrument panel.
- Remove lefthand upper steering column cap, then unlock and disconnect driver's air bag module yellow connector.
- Open glove compartment door, then push stoppers on lefthand and righthand sides and remove glove compartment.
- Disconnect passenger's air bag yellow connector.
- Allow 90 seconds for SDM...

- On models equipped with automatic transmission, disconnect fluid cooler lines.
- On Aerio models, remove coolant reservoir retaining bolts, then the reservoir.
- On Verona models, disconnect overflow hose from radiator pressure cap neck.
- On all models, disconnect radiator and condenser fan electrical connectors.
- Disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses.
- Remove radiator and condenser cooling fan mounting bolts, then the fan assemblies.
