Component Replacement & Adjustment -> Astro & Safari -> Water Pump, Replace
Vehicle: 2004 Chevrolet Astro 4.3 V6 GAS
- Drain radiator coolant into suitable container.
- Remove drive belt as outlined in "Drive Belt, Replace."
- Remove fan clutch using fan clutch wrench tool No. J-46406, or equivalent, in counterclockwise direction.
- Remove mounting bolts and water pump pulley.
- Disconnect coolant bypass hose and clamps.
- Disconnect outlet hose clamp from radiator, then raise and support vehicle.
- Disconnect clamp and radiator outlet hose from water pump.
- Remove four mounting bolts, water pump and gasket, Fig. .
