BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 AUTOMOBILES
Disc Brakes -> Delco Dual Piston Sliding Caliper -> Description
Vehicle: 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 5.3 V8 GAS
The caliper mounts in a way that allows the caliper to move laterally inboard as the brake pads wear. The caliper housing is a one piece casting with the inboard side containing the piston bore. The piston seal also acts as a return mechanism for the piston.
Applying the brake pedal causes the hydraulic pressure that moves the caliper piston. The piston then forces the inboard brake pad against the inboard braking surface of the rotor. Increasing the force against...

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM PROCEDURES FOR 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 AUTOMOBILES
Description
Vehicle: 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 5.3 V8 GAS
The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) notifies the driver when a significant loss of tire pressure occurs in any of the 4 tires.
When the vehicle is stationary, the sensor is inactive. When the vehicle is operated and as the vehicle speed increases, centrifugal force activates the sensors internal accelerometer causing the sensors to go into rolling mode. In the rolling mode, the sensors read tire pressure once every 30 second and transmit the reading once every 60...
