- Clean all dirt from and remove brake master cylinder filler cap, then fill master cylinder with suitable brake fluid.
- Place box end wrench on righthand rear bleeder screw, then attach rubber drain tube to bleeder screw. Submerge other end of hose in a container partially filled with suitable brake fluid.
- Have an assistant pump and hold pressure on brake pedal.
- Loosen brake bleeder until stream of brake fluid comes out.
- While assistant maintains pressure on brake pedal, tighten brake bleeder screw.
- Repeat until clear, bubble free fluid comes out.

- Drain brake master cylinder with suitable suction device.
- Remove coolant reservoir.
- On models equipped with Hydro Boost, remove three power distribution box bracket bolts and position box aside.
- On all models, remove speed control deactivator switch.
- Disconnect fluid level sensor connector.
- Remove and discard master cylinder mounting nuts.
- Disconnect master cylinder brake tubes.
- Remove master cylinder cylinder.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

Service Brake
The rear brake shoes adjust automatically when the vehicle is driven in reverse and the brakes are applied sharply several times. Manual adjustment is required only when brake shoes are replaced. When adjusting rear brakes, ensure parking brake is properly adjusted and adjuster is operating freely.

- With drums removed, clean areas where shoes contact backing plate, then apply suitable lubricant to contact areas. Ensure lubricant does not contaminate linings.
