Alternator, Replace
Vehicle: 2004 Jaguar XKR 4.2 V8 GAS
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Rotate accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise, using suitable 3/8 inch square drive bar.
- Remove drive belt.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove fasteners and air deflector.
- Remove alternator air duct.
- Remove splash shield.
- Remove righthand engine mounting lower retaining bolt.
- Lower vehicle.
- On models not equipped with a supercharger,remove expansion tank cap to relieve cooling system pressure.
- Remove engine cover.
- Install oil filler cap.
- Disconnect engine breather hose.
- Remove air cleaner outlet pipe.
- Disconnect the throttle body electrical connect...

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove air deflector.
- Disconnect engine ground cable.
- Remove starter motor positive cable cover.
- Detach starter motor positive cable.
- Remove starter motor retaining bolts...
