- Remove shaft nut or bolt, Fig. , with aid of spanner wrench.
- Remove pressure plate using pressure plate remover.
- Remove shims from shaft.
- Remove rotor (pulley) retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers.
- Remove rotor (pulley) by gently tapping it with plastic hammer. Some compressors may require a jaw puller.
- Disconnect stator lead wires from compressor housing.
- Remove stator retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers, then remove stator from compressor housing.

- Apply suitable brake pedal hold down tool and adjust pedal down approximately 1.6 inches.
- Install suitable bleeder bottle on nipple and loosen, then remove brake pipe from caliper.
- Remove guide pin mounting bolt and caliper.
- Reverse procedure to install. Bleed brake system as outlined under, "Hydraulic Brake Systems."

- Remove rear suspension assembly.
- Compress rear spring with a suitable spring compressor tool and mark tool position on spring.
- Remove lower mounting nut and bolt, then shock absorber.
- Repeat previous steps to remove other shock absorber.
- Disconnect in-line connector, then remove out frame clips and clear parking brake cable through frame.
