- Remove battery and tray.
- Disconnect engine compartment relay block from radiator.
- Disconnect cooling fan electrical connectors.
- Disconnect wiring harness clamps from shrouds.
- Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses at radiator.
- Disconnect radiator ECT switch electrical connector.
- Disconnect ATF cooler lines at radiator.

- Drain coolant into a suitable container until level falls below heater core fittings.
- Disconnect suction tube at firewall using claw tool No. 09870-00015, or equivalent. Cap open fittings, then discard O-rings.
- Disconnect liquid tube at firewall using claw tool No. 09870-00025, or equivalent. Cap open fittings, then discard O-rings.
- Disconnect heater hoses at core fittings.
- Remove instrument panel as outlined under "Instrument Panel, Replace."
