- Remove 2/3 of total brake fluid capacity from master cylinder reservoir.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
- If caliper requires overhaul, remove inlet fitting mounting bolt, then disconnect inlet fitting from caliper housing.
- Discard both gaskets, then plug openings in inlet fitting and caliper. Do not crimp brake hose.
- Remove caliper guide pin bolts, then the caliper from rotor and caliper mounting bracket. If only shoe and linings require replacement, suspend caliper from upper control arm.

When bleeding the brake system, always bleed righthand rear wheel circuit first, followed by the lefthand front, lefthand rear and, finally, righthand front.

- Remove 2/3 of total brake fluid capacity from master cylinder reservoir.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
- Install two wheel lug nuts to retain rotor in position.
- Position one end of suitable C-clamp against inlet fitting bolt and other end against outboard shoe and lining.
- Tighten clamp until piston fully bottoms in caliper bore, Fig. .
- Remove upper guide pin bolt and discard.
- Loosen lower guide pin bolt, then pivot caliper downward on lower guide pin bolt to expose shoe and lining assemblies.
