  • Drain small amount of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir using suitable, clean suction gun.
  • Bottom caliper piston into bore by prying caliper body against rotor.
  • Remove caliper support spring by prying support spring from retaining holes located in caliper body, Fig. .
  • Disconnect brake pad wear indicator wiring harness connector.
  • Remove protective caps, caliper slide pins and caliper.

Pressure Bleed

Use bleeder tank tool No. C-3496-B, or equivalent, and adapter tool No. BB400-9A, or equivalent, to pressurize hydraulic system.

Normal pressure bleeder pressure should not be more than 35 psi. On models equipped with plastic reservoirs, do not exceed 25 psi bleeding pressure.

  • Attach suitable clear plastic hose to bleeder screw and submerge other end into clear container with clean brake fluid.
  • Open bleeder screw at least one full turn.
  • Bleed 4-8 ounces of fluid through system until air free flow is maintained.
  • Repeat procedure at all screws.
