- Disconnect master cylinder from booster leaving brake lines connected and secure cylinder aside.
- Start engine and operate engine at idle speed.
- With engine running, position gauge over pushrod. Gauge should bottom against booster housing with force of approximately five lbs. applied to pushrod, Fig. . Ensure pushrod is properly seated in booster when performing gauge inspection.
- If force required to seat gauge is more than five lbs., shorten length of pushrod.

This lamp should light when the ignition is turned On. After engine starts, the lamp should go off, unless a fault condition is detected by the EEC-V system. If the lamp remains On or starts to blink, a diagnostic trouble code is stored in the PCM.
