Fuel System Pressure Relief
- Remove fuel pump fuse No. 19 from the instrument panel fuse box.
- Start the engine and run until it stalls.
- Turn the ignition Off.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Install the fuel pump fuse.
Removal
Do not smoke or allow an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel system related components. The highly flammable vapor mixtures may ignite, resulting in serious personal injury.
Prior to disconnecting fuel lines, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental fuel spray.

- Raise and support vehicle then remove wheel.
- Remove left-hand side cover.
- Remove protective cap from hub center-nut.
- Remove hub center nut.
- Remove bolt securing ball joint to steering swivel member. Pry loose then lower suspension arm. Secure it in position with a wooden block placed between suspension arm and anti-roll bar.
- Undo clips on brake hose and ABS cable mountings.
- Place a suitable container under gearbox in order to avoid oil spillage on floor.
- Use a plastic mallet to tap universal joint out of wheel hub.

- Remove battery cover.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove shield over intake manifold
- Remove crankcase ventilation solenoid and constant-pressure valves.
- If drive belt is to be reused, mark direction of rotation.
- Rotate belt tensioner, using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
- Remove drive belt.
- Remove alternator's upper retaining bolt.
- Remove bolt and drive belt tensioner.
- Mark and remove retaining nut on righthand engine mounting and lubricate it to give it some mobility.
- Remove retaining nut on rear engine mounting.
- Remove bypass pipe and valve, discard O-ring.
