Initialization

If the tires or wheels have been replaced or if the tires have been rotated, the system must be initialized as follows:

  • Check and adjust the tire pressure to the specified psi.
  • Place the ignition switch in the On position. If the lower tire warning lamp illuminates, push the tire pressure reset switch (located on the instrument panel to the right of the heater control assembly) until the warning lamp goes Off.
  • Release the Reset button.
  • Press and hold the tire pressure warning lamp reset button until the tire pressure warning lamp blinks 3 times.

  • Place the ignition switch in the Off position.
  • Using Toyota SST or other suitable jumper, connect terminals TS and CG of DLC3. The DLC3 is located under the left side of the instrument panel, Fig. .
  • Place the ignition switch in the On position.
  • Press the tire pressure warning reset switch, Fig. .
  • If the tire pressure warning lamp illuminates for 3 seconds and then turn Off, a normal condition is indicated.
  • If the tire pressure warning lamp blinks in .5 second intervals, a problem in the TPMS is indicated.
