- Disconnect stop lamp switch electrical connector.
- Loosen stop lamp switch lock nut, then remove stop lamp switch.
- Loosen brake master cylinder push rod clevis lock nut.
- Adjust pedal height by turning pedal push rod.
- Torque push rod lock nut to 19 ft. lbs.

- Disconnect and isolate battery negative terminal.
- Remove rear seat cushion by pulling up on two front hooks, then releasing hooks from seat back frame.
- Remove fuel pump module service hole cover.
- Disconnect fuel pump electrical connector.
- Connect battery and start engine.
- Allow engine to idle until it stalls, then attempt to restart engine. DTC P0171 system lean may be set.
- Remove fuel tank cap to release pressure in fuel tank.
- Disconnect and isolate battery negative terminal.
- Connect fuel pump electrical connector.
- Install service hole cover, then the rear seat cushion.

Before removing front axle assembly, remove wheel sensor from assembly. Move it away from front axle assembly area. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to sensor wires and wheel sensor becoming inoperative.
- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove drain plug and drain transaxle fluid into suitable container.
- Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
- Remove engine undercover bolts, then remove cover.
- Loosen staked part of wheel hub locknut completely to avoid damage to hub shaft.
