DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2007 Saab 9-3 AUTOMOBILES
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Install -> Remove
Vehicle: 2007 Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8 V6 GAS
Remove
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove wheel hub center nut.
- Remove lower engine cover.
- On convertible models, remove chassis reinforcement at front subframe.
- On all models, remove steering swivel member bolt, lower swivel arm and place a wedge tool No. 83 95 238 or equivalent between swing arm and anti-roll bar.
- Detach brake hose from clip and ABS harness holder. Turn wheel for better access.
- Press out drive shaft from wheel hub about 10 mm, using puller tool No. 89 96 951or equivalent.

- Remove battery cover.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove lower engine cover.
- Place a suitable container under vehicle, connect a hose to radiator and drain coolant.
- Remove right front wheel.
- Remove right wheelhouse liner.
- If drive belt is to be reused, mark direction of rotation.
- Rotate belt tensioner, using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
- Remove drive belt.
- Lower vehicle.
- Remove upper engine cover.
- Disconnect connectors from engine control module.
- Remove engine control module.
