BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2008 Cadillac SRX AUTOMOBILES

Front
- Siphon brake fluid out of master cylinder until fluid level is approximately 1/3 full, this will prevent fluid overflow when caliper piston is pushed back into its bore.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
- Push piston back into its bore using suitable C-clamp, Fig. .
- Remove brake caliper hose bolt, then two metal gaskets from brake caliper bolt.
- Remove two caliper mounting bolts and lift caliper off of rotor.

- Mark propeller shaft Constant Velocity (CV) joint to transfer case flange for installation alignment.
- Remove mounting bolts and disconnect CV joint from differential pinion flange by moving shaft rearward using suitable flat-bladed tool in differential flange notch.

- Remove cross car brace mounting bolts and brace.
- Remove power steering and engine oil fill caps.
- Lift up on fuel injector sight shield, pull it forward and remove it.
- Remove retaining clip and PCV dirty air tube.
