BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer AUTOMOBILES

Removal
- Siphon 2/3 of the brake fluid from master cylinder.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove tire and wheel assembly.
- Compress caliper pistons until they bottom in bores using suitable clamp, Fig. .
- Disconnect brake hose at caliper by removing inlet fitting bolt.
- Remove mounting bolts and caliper.
Inspection
Should it become required to remove the caliper for installation of new components, clean components in denatured alcohol, wipe dry using lint-free cloths. Blow out drilled passages and holes using compressed air. Inspect dust boots for punctures or tears. If punctures or tears are...

DRIVESHAFT, Replace -> Front -> One Piece Driveshaft -> Rear -> Two Piece Driveshaft
Vehicle: 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT 5.3 V8 GAS
Front
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Mark the front U-joint to the pinion yoke on the front differential.
- Mark the relationship of the rear U-joint to the transfer case drive flange.
- Remove the retaining nuts and bolts from the drive flange.
- Remove the clamps and retaining bolts from the front drive axle pinion flange.
- Remove the front propeller shaft from the vehicle.
- Using tape and or a rubber band, wrap the front U-joint bearing caps to ensure the caps do not separate from the U-joint.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove rear steering gear crossmember mounting bolts and crossmember.
- Remove wire harness from wire harness retaining clips on transmission oil cooler line bracket.
- Remove transmission oil cooler line bracket bolt.
