- Raise vehicle off ground and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Mark companion flange, flange yoke, and differential companion flange and rubber coupling with a line.
- Remove bolts securing driveline from companion flange. When removing driveline use care not to damage the boot. Insert a cloth into the boot to prevent it from being damaged.
- Separate driveline from transfer assembly.

- Loosen wheel nuts slightly.
- Raise and support vehicle and ensure it is secure supported.
- Remove front wheel nuts and front wheels. Do not damage hub bolts when removing front wheel and tire.
- Remove split pin and castle nut.
- Remove brake caliper mounting bolts and support caliper using mechanic wire.
- Remove tie rod end ball joint from steering knuckle.
- Remove tie rod castle nut.
- Disconnect ball joint from steering knuckle using suitable tool.
- Remove split pin and lower control arm mounting bolt from steering knuckle.
- Disconnect driveshaft from axle hub using plastic hammer.
