- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Mark relationship of components before removal.
- Reference mark relationship of driveline to front differential.
- Reference mark relationship of driveline to rear universal joint transfer case drive flange.
- Remove retainer nuts and bolts from drive flange.
- Remove clamps and retaining bolts from front drive axle pinion flange.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Rotate or lift belt tensioner arm clockwise using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
- Remove drive belt.
- Raise vehicle on lift.
- Remove lefthand front wheel.
- Remove push-pins securing lefthand wheel housing liner.
- Disconnect A/C compressor clutch connector.
- Remove A/C compressor mounting bolts. Remove two lower bolts and one upper bolt ONLY. Evacuation of A/C refrigerant is not required. One upper mounting bolt will secure A/C compressor.
