- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove intake air manifold.
- Remove nuts and remove cable from starter.
- Remove top and bottom mounting nuts on starter to bell housing.
- Remove nut on support bracket.
- Remove starter motor from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque starter motor to bell housing nuts to 10 ft. lbs.
- Torque support bracket to starter nut to 12 in. lbs.
- Torque support bracket to crankcase nut to 10 ft. lbs.
- Torque electrical leads to starter 12 to 24 in. lbs.
