DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2009 Ford Flex AUTOMOBILES
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Front -> Rear
Vehicle: 2009 Ford Flex Limited 3.5 V6 GAS
Front
- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
- Remove front tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove and discard front wheel hub nut. Apply brake to keep halfshaft from rotating.
- Remove ball joint nut and separate lower control arm from knuckle.
- Separate halfshaft from wheel hub, using front wheel hub remover tool No. 205-D070 or equivalent.
- For right front halfshaft, proceed as follows:
- Remove bolt from brake tube bracket.
- Remove lower scrivets from rubber shield and position shield aside.
- For all halfshafts, pull knuckle outboard and rotate it toward rear of vehicle. Support knuc...
