This procedure describes a driveline equipped with cardan joint in tube yoke. Driveline equipped with companion/slip yoke repeat steps to remove remaining cardan joint.
- Place driveshaft on suitable workbench. Do not damage driveshaft when servicing on workbench. Ensure driveline and components are reference marked to prevent driveline imbalance.
- Tap outside of bearing cap with a drift to loosen snap ring.
- Remove snap rings from both sides of yoke using suitable tool.
- Position yoke with grease fitting pointing up, if equipped.

- Disconnect cable from battery ground terminal. Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting cable from ground (-) battery terminal to disable SRS system. When disconnecting cable, some systems need to be initialized after cable is reconnected.
- Remove engine under cover.
- Remove righthand front fender apron seal.
