Wheel bearing must not be burdened while 12 point nut is loose.
If wheel bearing is burdened by weight of vehicle, wheel bearing will be pre-damaged. This will diminish wheel bearing service life.
If it should be necessary to move a vehicle whose drive axle has been removed, before doing so install an outer joint in place of drive axle and tighten it to 11 ft. lbs., or else wheel bearing will be damaged.
- Lift vehicle enough that front axle is no longer burdened.
- Remove 12 point nut.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel.

Removal
When TPMS sensor battery is discharge, the entire sensor must be replaced. Use only original valve caps and valve insert.
- Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
- Raise and support the vehicle with jack stands.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- When dismounting the tire from the rim, note the following:
- Turn the wheel on tire mounting device so that valve/TPMS sensor is in front of mounting head.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove engine cover.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Release fasteners and remove lower noise insulation including drive belt cover.
- Remove front end:
- Remove headlamps.
- Remove wheelhousing liners.
- Remove bolts from wheelhousings and disconnect harness connectors for turn signals and fog lights.
- Disconnect hose connector in vehicles with headlight washer system.
- Remove attaching nuts, expanding clips, and bolts, then with aid of an assistant, pull left and right front end outward off threaded pins and remove forward from vehicle.

- Remove right main headlamp assembly.
- Raise and support vehicle.

- Mark direction of rotation of drive belt with chalk or felt pen if belt is to be reused.
