HONDA, DISC BRAKES -> REAR Disc BRAKE PAD & LINING REPLACEMENT -> INSTALLATION -> REMOVAL

REMOVAL
- Refer to Figs. through when replacing rear brake pads.
- Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assemblies.
- Remove two caliper mounting bolts, then caliper.
- Remove shims, retainers and brake pads.
INSTALLATION
- Using a vernier caliper, measure thickness of each pad lining. Compare measurement with specifications. If brake lining thickness is less than specified, replace both pads as a set.
- Clean caliper thoroughly, and check for grooves or cracks, repair or replace as necessary.

DISASSEMBLY
- Remove master cylinder from vehicle as described under "Master cylinder, Replace."

- Remove rod seal, then push in secondary piston assembly and remove snap ring being careful not to damage master cylinder bore.
